We can run a craft skill training course for you.  We are a credited training and assessment center by the Directorate of Industrial training.  

Basket weaving and dye mixing techniques Courses

Our weaving courses train both skilled and unskilled artisans to increase production capacity. Participants learn to harvest, prepare materials, and weave baskets. Training also includes money management, accounting, Fair Trade principles, and life skills. Skilled artisans receive additional instruction in bookkeeping, dyeing and color mixing, advanced weaving techniques, product development, and quality control. Basket weaving offers hope as a valuable source of regular income

Learning tours

Our craft industry caters to tourists who enjoy buying and seeing how crafts are made. We welcome visitors, including journalists, buyers, and researchers, to engage with our artisans, culture, and production process. Upon request, we can arrange visits to artisans’ homes, where you can learn basket weaving and dye-making.

We also offer weaving workshops, suitable for beginners or advanced makers. Join us and learn the craft of raffia basket coiling using a variety of different techniques and stitches.
